Action Mesothelioma Day

Did you know that over 2,500 people die per year of Mesothelioma, one of the main lung cancers directly attributed to exposure to asbestos? It is not acceptable, and that’s why the Asbestos Alliance, formed by Asbestos support groups across the UK, organises ‘Action Mesothelioma Day’ on the first Friday of July every year.

Public buildings across the country will be lit up in blue across to mark this special day and raise awareness of this important issue.

Here at DAST we remember all those who have died or have been made ill by Mesothelioma, and we also recognise that Action Meso Day is a positive opportunity to bring families together for a common cause, whether that be fighting for justice, looking to the future for better diagnosis and treatment of Mesothelioma or campaigning for a World-Wide asbestos Ban!

Be Bold, Wear Blue!

This year, Action Mesothelioma day is Friday July 7th, and as part of our activities, DAST invites you to Be Bold, Wear Blue!

  • Join the DAST Team in wearing Blue on July 7th (the bolder the better!) to support Action Mesothelioma Day.

  • WhatsApp or Facebook in a picture or video of yourself holding the sign which can be printed off using the link below so that we can flood our social media and raise awareness of mesothelioma as well as raising much needed funds for DAST. You’re also invited to send in a few words about what mesothelioma means to you.

  • Tell your friends and colleagues why you’re wearing blue; why not invite them to join you and send in a group picture?

  • Consider making an individual or group donation to support DAST’s invaluable work providing support when people need it most, with benefits, compensation, wellbeing and campaigning on asbestos disease and dangers.
